I love Lt. Bob Cabral. He was a great man and I miss him  / Soccer Player (He was my coach )

Coach Bob was my coach for a couple years. I loved him. He taught me so much about the game. Not only about soccer, but he taught me how to be a good person. I miss him and will always think of him everyday. I didn't look at him as just some guy I had to listen to when I played, I thought of him as my friend. He was a very funny man. He used to always make me and my friend Blaire laugh. He used to call her Blakey, Blake. or Blaine.. Haha. He used to make fun of me sometimes in a joking manner because I did cheerleading one year when I was on his team and he would say he could never imagine me, a great soccer player, as a preppy cheerleader. He was correct because I didnt like it neither! He was an awesome person just to be around. He always had a smile on his face and never did something negative come out of his mouth. He always had a positive outlook on even the worst situations. When I was on his team on year, I got hurt and tore ligements on my knee and I remember as I was crying on the field, he still managed to make me laugh and help me to the car to get me to the hospital. He was a great man. He will remain in the minds of me and Blaire for the rest of our lifes. Everyone always says give it your all and that was one thing he said that really meant something to me and whenever I played around him, I sure as heck did! I never will forget him. Every time I step foot onto those soccer fields he coached me on, I will remember him. Always. I wont just remember how much I miss him, but all the good times, laughs, and everything he taught me while I with him there. He was a great person and missed by everyone. Well I just wanted to pay my respects here and let him know that Theresa is still thinking of him! I miss you Coach Bob, and dont worry, thanks to you, I will ALWAYS give it my all.

The Boys  / Nancy

Hi Bob, Alec had his science project in the Science Fair yesterday. He was proud as a peacock. He and Andrew Kenyon did their's on sinkholes. They got an A+ on it ! You would have loved to see them in action. They both enjoyed explaining the project to anyone willing to listen. It was fun to watch. ....   Alec talks about you every day. He has me drive him through the graveyard in the morning before I drop him off at school. Mitchell does not want to, though. He is still struggling with all of this. He wears the necklace you gave him alot lately. I try to talk to him often, but he has put up some pretty tall walls. He tells me he loves me every time he walks by me at home. I am sure he tells you that he loves you just as often, if not more. You were so special to them and the love they have for you inside of them will never ever fade.

Hey Bob,
Its been a hard day. Alot of senseless issues came into play with more then one situation. It just amazes me how when something like your death happened how different I feel about so many issues. When tragedy hits so many people u love so dearly you truly see the light at the end of  that very dark tunnel. I don't know how u are doing it with me, but u have put just the right words in my mouth, everytime I have faced a senseless situation. I have always been a loud mouth, and can usually stick my foot in it very often, but some how u have put your words in my mouth, and the funny thing is, I know its u because it is just what u would've said. Thanks for being around to help me see the glass 1/2 full most of the time. Because Lord knows I'm not very good at that. Alot of my friends are dealing with some real tragidies in there lives and I've been put in some situations where I wasn't sure what to say to them, Thanks for helping me find the words to comfort them. Integrity / Nancy Cabral-McKenna

Bob, I am very proud of our boys. They are very brave. They realize already, at such a young age ,the importance of keeping things possitive. They have been through not only the loss of you, but losing Anne was very traumatic for them also. Even though they are going through their own pain, they still have compassion for others who are going through bad times. Anne's son Nick is also dealing with the loss of his mom at such a young age. Alec and Mitch have stepped up and been like big brothers to him. They understand that others hurt too and want to help if they can. While helping Nick, they are beginning to slowly heal. I hope you are with Anne. I know how much you loved her too, and she loved you as well. Please give her a big hug from us all and let her know that we miss her so much and she was the best friend in the world. Let her know that I love Nick as if he were my own and he will always be in our lives as we talked about. Brad is an outstanding dad and she can rest in peace knowing that he will be alright. Mitch and Alec will be alright also.I promise.

Bob, Alec is going to have his first day of D.A.R.E. tomorrow. We just finished talking about how he feels about it. He is a little worried about being sad tomorrow. I told him that you would be by his side through the whole day and to talk to you if he needs to. He knows to call me if he needs anything and Shayne and Brian will watch out for him also. I am so glad it is Shayne that is going to be there tomorrow with Alec. I really trust him. Never the less, I'm sure his and all the hearts of the children in that class will pang a little tomorrow in the absence of you.Help our boy to be strong tomorrow. Close

So, I was at work today and on the radio came the song  " I can only imagine".  Immediately tears filled my eyes.  I couldn't help it.  It's amazing how something as simple as a song can do that to you.  It brought me right back to the church the day of the funeral.  As we were walking toward the church, through all of the officers and everyone that gathered outside that day, that was the song that I heard over the loud speakers.  My heart was so very heavy.  I heard it again the day of the memorial mass.  It is a song that I think will forever be in my heart.  I just thought I would share that with you. - i can only imagine... Hi Bob, I know your really busy up there with all those beautiful angels ;). but can you peak in on the boys and give them some strength, it must be so hard for children to try and understand, as its so difficult for me (as an adult) to understand the question of death?   Everyday we live for something, we live for life, we live for memories, we live to Breathe, we live to one day be with our loved ones again. I see this beautiful place in my thoughts and I'm very happy knowing that that is where you and my mom and Anne and your mom and alot of great people are now at. Eternal life, well where else would it be right?  Please help give Nancy some strength as I said before I cant imagine her having to look into Mitch and Alec's eyes and seeing the heartache everyday. You definately do have strong boys!!!  God Bless and continue being around everyone!! Bob, we are keeping the boys busy. Mitchell needs to pull his grades up. I know he can do it. Basketball is going o.k. Alec is driving Pat crazy during the games. Just like he did with you. We call it " Alec's world". Pat is going to coach the travel team also. Lets hope he and Alec don't kill each other. What a kid! Thank God we love him so much or I would have to sell him to the Gypsies. We have good and bad days. More good than bad. You are missed Bob. Mitch is trying to pretend none of this has happened. In time, he will have to deal with all the emotions he has burried deep inside of him. He is a great young man with a beautiful spirit. I'm asking you tonight, to light the path for Nancy and Pat. They are two very special people with a great deal of love for your sons. Please help them find peace in knowing that u are always with them and the boys, and that u will see that everything turns out okay. Your Alec is so precious, he is definately shedding light for Nancy everyday, Alec is just Alec, and u know what I mean by that you gotta love that kid. I am worried about Mitch though, please help he find away to grieve your lose. He is a very strong kid on the outside, please help him find inner peace. It's hard for the family to help in some ways because they are kids, and will never completely tell anyone how they feel. Help the two of them find comfort in knowing that u are always with them. They will always treasure u, Bob because you were a great father, and they know that. Help them feel your love everyday, especially when they might be in there darkest moments. Help Nancy and Pat to find peace in any decision they need to make, your boys will always be surrounded by people that love them, now more then ever. Hi Bob, I am just writing ask you to please give Nancy and Pat and the boys strength.  I see the hurt in Nancys eyes everyday.  I know that the boys are having a hard time and I really just hope that you can give them some signs  or strength that things will be ok.  I too am grieving the loss of my grandmother and I know how much it hurts.   I think they all need your strength.  I can see how much you are mised everyday and I see how much they love you.  Nancy and Pat are doing a great job with your boys and I am sure that your proud.  I think that they need your strength just as much as the boys.  They are trying so hard to keep the boys going and keep the normalcy and I think they are doing a good job.  I just hope that they know that if they have to grieve too its OK.  Well I just wanted you to know how much your missed not only by them but by the whole swansea community.  Close

when i was in the 6th grade officer bob taught me dare. The day we graduated i was real sick and couldn't go. A few days later wheniwas in school he came to my class and told me that no one ever misses his graduation  it was so fun because i thought he was really mad but he was just joking around with me! another thing i will always remember in our 8th grade Washington D.C. trip. Officer Bob was one of the chaparones on my bus and just happened to sit right on the side of me the whole trip, anyone who knew him would know all we did was laugh the whole four days. By the time we got to DC he was known as the back of the bus chaparone. 
   Officer Bob i want you to know how much you helped me relize where i shood in life. You will always be missed. there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of you!! Rest in Peace Officer B.
   MItch i know i see you every day in school but i just want you to know how sorry i an and that I'm here for you whenever you need me and you know that!!
   Alec i know you probably don't remember me but i want you to also know how sorry i am for you loss! you keep on remembering the good times you had with your dad and never forget them yourdad loved you and your brother so much , thats all he ever talked about, (besides those YAnks)

Remembering Bob  / Trish Gersbach (friend, and associate, Swansea Friends Of dare )
Bob has been gone more than two months now. He is missed terribly by so many people. I think of him every day and miss him very much. I pray for him. I know he is in heaven watching over all of us and that brings a measure of comfort to me. I am glad to see this site. A place where we can come and give tribute to Bob, and a place where Mitch and Alec and their mom can find some comfort, and to read how people feel about their dad , and how much he was loved by everyone whose life he touched. I want to say to the boys, I personally know how very proud your dad was of both of you, and for sure no boys could ever be loved more than your dad loved you. You are nice kids, and good people. You will always be guided in life by your dad, all that he taught you, and the foundation of your life which he helped build along side of your mom. You are now left in the capable hands of your mother Nancy, and step-dad Pat, and your extended family. I knew your dad for many, many years and I know that he is secure in the knowledge that his boys will be wholly loved and very well cared for by especially your mom and Pat. Your mother is a very kind, compassionate and caring person. She has always put you boys first and she always will. You are her life. Boys, surround yourself with people that bring out the best in you. Let your many wonderful memories of your dad light up your life. And let your mother do what your dad would want more than anything....and that is to continue to raise you up to be loving caring and compassionate, and productive human beings, like she and your dad. You have two exceptional role models in them, and also, in Pat. You are always in my heart and prayers . God Bless you and your family. Close
